My background
My name is Vic and I am a freelance audio engineer. I am a London-based audio engineer and composer working across live productions, theatre and technically ambitious productions. My practice combines a strong creative and classical background with a deep understanding of complex sound systems, live audio operation, show control and the demands of complex performance environments.
Originally from Sydney, Australia I studied Contemporary Composition and Production at the Victorian College of the Arts, the University of Melbourne, before completing a Master's in Theatre Production and Design at the Guildhall School of Music & Drama in London. This combination of classical music, composition, theatre-making, and production training informs my approach to sound: technically precise, musically sensitive and always in service of the performance.
Alongside my work in audio engineering and technical production, I am continuing to create and support theatre, music and performance projects. I am particularly interested in work that blends technical innovation with strong storytelling, and in creative processes where sound, systems and performance are developed in close conversation.
Some of my recent work includes ABBA Voyage, where I contributed and led the audio team in the operation and delivery of one of the world's most advanced live entertainment productions. Working often within a large-scale technical environment, I strive to bring reliability, attention to detail and a calm, collaborative approach to the challenges of live show production.
