// WEAVING WOMEN
// a reflection of the limitations imposed on creativity
// an exploration of the inherent reaction that one has in response to those limitations
// the opportunity for growth that stems from being part of a collective
The piece explores these notions through movement and Circus performance. The concept originated from a study of Bauhaus culture and further exploration of its values and presence within society.
Manuela Pecorari and I were paired up for our final project to respond to the brief of Bauhaus. Together with Gavin Marshall (director) and four circus performers we workshopped and devised Weaving Women. The workshopping process culminated in a showing for Paul and Abi Yeates. Manuela and I are investigating options for future exploration and expansion on the concept.
